[Bug 220558] New: Kicker (kickoff menu) crashes if hal is not running
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=220558 Summary: Kicker (kickoff menu) crashes if hal is not running Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Beta 2 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: amantia@kde.org QAContact: qa@suse.de For some reason after a boot HAL was not running here and I experienced crashes of kicker as soon as I opened the menu. To reproduce: rchal stop (as user) dcop kicker kicker restart (as the user) BT below. Possibly not a blocker as most users have a running hal on the system, but still a crash. To make it work again I did: rchal start; rcdbus restart (as root) dcop kicker kicker restart (as the user) but unfortunately I don't get back the suspend entries to the menu. :-( System configuration startup check disabled. (no debugging symbols found) Using host libthread_db library "/lib64/libthread_db.so.1".
