I downgraded to the version originally shipped with opensuse 12.1 (pm-utils-1.4.1-12.1.2.x86_64) and everything is fine again. With the original version the CPU clocks at 2.3GHz when the system is loaded and switches back to 800MHz when idle. Does the issue appear only on battery power or both battery and AC?

If you do, please tell me if it fixed the issue. This one works fine. Which new version should I try? The one I get with yast onlineupdate? I had this issue only on my lenovo w520.
