After that Seamonkey (version 1.1.14-1.1) crashes on opening a web page or a mail. On Konsole: ~>seamonkey /usr/bin/seamonkey: line 277: 4067 Speicherzugriffsfehler $AOSS $MOZ_PROGRAM $MOZ_LANG I tried a manual downgrade for MozillaFirefox and digikam to the previous installed versions, but the problem is still there. I tried to de-activate Adblockplus and to delete the profile directory ~/.mozilla. A downgrade to xulrunner 1.9.10 (and Firefox 3.0.10) solved the problem for me. There is one exception I can think of if seamonkey tries to use a java plugin which is built against xulrunner (what is basically true for the openjdk ones). Only in that case I see seamonkey being able to call into xulrunner through the plugin. Do you have java plugins installed on your system? Yes, SeaMonkey works completely fine when running in gdb (and outside of it anyway).

Crash on activated JS as described in comment #1. I get the same result with gdm, ltrace or strace as described in comment #9. None of these gives me a Sm with activated JS so I can crash it. I have the same problem with the browser of the 64-bit version (seamonkey-1.1.16-1.1.2). (When the program starts only the tree of folders and the content of one folder is listed. When I click on one mail in the list the pogram crashes). Added Mozilla buildservice repo and installed Sm 1.1.17 (Sm, -mail and -venkman. No -spellchecker) and Fx 3.0.11. So far exactly as my "real" working system. But no crash is reproducible with that. The OpenJDK java plugin is built against xulrunner 1.9 and therefore crashes with seamonkey. I uninstalled the openjdk packages and then installed the java-1_6_0-sun packages (including the browser plugin) and noticed that my.yahoo.com no longer crashes seamonkey, but when I tested java in seamonkey (http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml) it crashes the same way. This java test works fine in firefox.
