[Bug 355734] New: osc: should print something useful if the password is wrong and offer a dialog to change passwd
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=355734 Summary: osc: should print something useful if the password is wrong and offer a dialog to change passwd Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: BuildService AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: dkukawka@novell.com QAContact: adrian@novell.com CC: cstender@novell.com Found By: --- If I change my password in the OSBS/novell/opensuse webinterface and try then to sync/change something with osc, I get only some cryptical python error message like this (only a part of the error): ---------------------------------- File "/usr/lib/python2.4/urllib2.py", line 480, in http_error_default raise HTTPError(req.get_full_url(), code, msg, hdrs, fp) urllib2.HTTPError: HTTP Error 401: Unauthorized ---------------------------------- There should be a more usefull message like: "You password and/or username is maybe wrong" and then it should offer a simple dialog to change the password and/or the username, and no such useless python error message. I had to edit ~/.oscrc to change the password (which contains it in plaintext, which is an other bug). Btw. the same for several other errors, as e.g. if the server is not reachable. Print something that tell the user what happend and not print a python backtrace. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
