It waits approximately 1 minute (not a random time) after or while reading repository data. This is true for repomd files as well as for content and media files. Or try to use other packman mirror. I have attached a libpcap record of the HTTP traffic during repository refresh. You can see, that the delays occur after the HEAD commands, while the answer has been send from the remote server. There is a dansguardian/squid proxy between zypper and the outside world. But I have tested the HEAD commands that I have captured in telnet, and I have received answers in normal response times. So dansguardian/squid seems *NOT* to be the problem. Can I tell zypper to avoid the HEAD commands?
