I am trying to playback audio mp3-Files which in general works great but only using "Videos" (totem). I tried a basic console application called "cmus" and noticed that the sound is stuttering a lot and suffers from lags. mwagner@linux-6s7s:~$ /sbin/lspci | grep Audio 00:01.1 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Kabini HDMI/DP Audio 00:14.2 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] FCH Azalia Controller (rev 02) Could you look into this, please? Also, which output are you testing? The onboard analog one (e.g. headphone) or over HDMI? The stuttering with AMD chip may come due to the cache coherency issue. Try to pass snoop=off option to snd-hda-intel module, e.g. set the line below in /etc/modprobe.d/50-hda.conf: options snd-hda-intel snoop=off and reboot the system and retest. Last but not least, give more detailed hw information, e.g. the output of alsa-info.sh script. Run it with --no-upload option and attach (don't paste) the output file to Bugzilla. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

As requested I provide further information. Kernel is 4.5.4-1-default according to "uname -r" I am using the analogue output as my monitor doesn't have speakers. I am also attaching the output of the alsa-info.sh script. Thanks for the pointer to this. I wasn't aware that such a script exists. Unfortunately I do not have such a file called: /etc/modprobe.d/50-hda.conf - Shall I create such a file and put the line you indicated there? I tried this but this resulted in having no audio at all. pavucontroll defaults to Dummy-output and doesn't show any audio hardware at all. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

That's odd. Could you give dmesg output? Also try snoop=0 instead of off, just to be sure. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

If I am getting the cmus package from the packman repository, should I continue filing the bug report here or message the packager directly? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
