I tried turning on scsi debugging log with echo 509 > /proc/sys/dev/scsi/logging_level to see if I could get any messages out of the kernel explaining the behaviour.
Maybe try echo 9411 > /proc/sys/dev/scsi/logging_level Could you please attached "lspci -nnv", "hdparm -I [DEVICE]" and full log of dmesg? is it 100% reproduced kernel panic when you unplugging esata device? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Where should I report issues with 3.12.0-rc2-3.g954d4c1-desktop? I see there's a new version 3.12.rc2-6.1.g9e0a852
Same esata issue occur? or you met another one issue? if another one issue then please file a separate bug for that. Against 3.12.rc2 or later, due to it should have same codebase from upstream mainline, you can also file it to upstream bugzilla https://bugzilla.kernel.org/ if you want. BTW does this issue is disappear for you with 3.12 kernel? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I have not had any issues with esata since upgrading to 3.12. Thanks.
Sorry for late reply, busy for 13.1 release... OK, seems this issue only happen on specific hardware and already fixed in latest kernel. Will you prefer keep using 3.12 kernel or you want back to use 12.3's kernel? if say you prefer keep use 3.12 then I'll consider close this bug; if prefers later one, I can find out which patch fix this issue, and backport it to 12.3's kernel... :-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
