http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1205009 Bug ID: 1205009 Summary: Preserving priorities of existing package repositories during software upgrade in a Live system Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: Markus.Elfring@web.de QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Installation systems are offered by some ISO images. If a software upgrade was chosen, the existing package repositories can eventually be detected from the selected root file system. A (graphical) user interface is provided so far where the activation can be toggled for these repositories. It can happen that the repository configuration was mostly working before. Thus I would find it occasionally more helpful to reactivate such a configuration (instead of replacing it with an adjusted variant) for the next software upgrade attempt. How will the chances evolve to support such an installation system configuration option? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

For that, YaST offers the Toggle button, so you can decide what repos to keep.
Can the selection be reactivated altogether on the screen Previously Used Repositories (by a single option)?
Isn't your use case covered yet?
Yes. May the priorities be directly reused from a probably working repository configuration? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

A few very advanced users will know how to make good use of such a feature:
Some users became used to the possibilities of the software distribution openSUSE Tumbleweed. I became also used then to configure a few (additional) package repositories with different priorities.
and edit each of those URLs to point to the new release.
How many links will actually need further adjustments?
For them, that would indeed be a handy shortcut to save some work.
Thanks for such a positive feedback. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
