[Bug 1096066] Cannot install booting (grub) into MBR of "/dev/sda"
http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1096066 http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1096066#c12 --- Comment #12 from richard bragg <braggrj@gmail.com> --- It think that having Boot from MBR then a list of available devices would work really well. That way the user can see and clearly manage the install, it won't depend on order of disks in BIOS or other places. The installer for 42.3 refused to install into MBR if disk order in the boot section was sdb, sda and 15 wanted to use sda regardless of that setting. Having the option when selecting install to MBR of which device(s) to use would be really helpful. I figured out about booting from sdb myself and leaving booting from sda to MS thus giving an easy way (via BIOS) to let Windows have free reign when needed. In addition to Windows updates it was useful when having PC repaired in that I could set to boot from Windows and shop didn't need to worry about Linux at all. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
