[Bug 354131] New: mouse cursor hidden behind UI on SLES 10
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=354131 Summary: mouse cursor hidden behind UI on SLES 10 Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: SLES 10 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: danielstefanmader@web.de QAContact: sndirsch@novell.com Found By: --- On SLES 10, we have the weird situation that the mouse cursor is not visible on the user interface. The mouse is still working, and items are clickable, but the cursor itself is not visible. Right after a reboot everything is fine, only after some uptime the problem occurs. Restarting the graphical interface by switching to runlevel 3 and back to 5 does not help, either. When sax2 is started from runlevel 3 by "sax2 -r" while the problem existed, there is also no cursor in the newly started session. This makes us believe that the problem is maybe caused by the graphics driver. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I think this issue has already been addressed by a newer nv driver in a later openSUSE release. There are no plans to fix this issue still for SUSE LINUX 10.1. There's an unofficial nv driver update package available for SLES10/SUSE LINUX 10.1 in our buildservice. Search for xorg-x11-driver-video-nv (Distribution: SLES/SLED 10). Please reopen this bugreport if the issue still exists with openSUSE 10.3/11.0. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Thank you very much for this simple and quick workaround! We are totally fine with the xorg.conf-solution. And your response time to this report is absolutely unbeatable, too! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
