[Bug 506933] New: Bridge setup in network (remotefs) phase too late
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=506933 Summary: Bridge setup in network (remotefs) phase too late Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: js@jetsys.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042316 Firefox/3.0.10 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) I´ve a bridge setup with sets up a bridge from a TAP device tap0 and ethernet device eth0 (for using openvpn). All devices are configured using yast (No IP Adress for eth0, startup mode for eth0 is manual) . This setup works perfectly with openSuSe 11.0. Calling the network init scripts starts the bridge and everthing is fine. In OpenSuse 11.1 there is some change. The network init script is called twice with two different environments (localfs, remotefs). In the localfs phase, only the tap0 device is configured and the eth0 device is configured but not started (start mode manually). The bridge which connects the two devices is setup later in the remotefs phase. However, there a some services started between localfs and remotefs which still needs a working network. All these services are timing out during startup.
