https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=717933 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=717933#c0 Summary: No gateway for wireless when using ifup and eth0 is set to activate at boot Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: markcscott2003@hotmail.com QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:7.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0 When a ethernet NIC and a wireless lan are present present on the same machine and configuration is done via yast2 using ifup instead of networkmanager, no gateway is assigned to the wireless lan card. The wireless lan connects and receives an IP address but routes no data. If the Ethernet NIC setting "activate device" in yast is changed from "at boot" to "on cable connection" then wireless card works as expected after reboot. For reference please see these threads: http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/wireless/455586-t... and http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/wireless/465271-s... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.set up via yast 2.default ifup behaviour 3.n/a Actual Results: as described above Expected Results: I would expect ifup to be able to assign a gateway to the wireless lan card n/a -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
