[Bug 309002] New: Broken video resolution after resume from Suspend to disk
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=309002 Summary: Broken video resolution after resume from Suspend to disk Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 3 Platform: i686 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Mobile Devices AssignedTo: behlert@novell.com ReportedBy: bwalle@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Development On my Dell laptop (hwinfo attached), the video resolution is broken after wakeup from suspend to disk. Normally, it's 1280x800, after resume it looks like 800x600 (with a virtual desktop still 1280x800). Following procedure brings back the right resolution: Switch to console 1 (Ctrl-Alt-F1), switching back to X (Alt-F7) and toggling the resolution with "xrandr" command (or some GUI). No problems with 10.2, so that's a regression. :( -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I wonder that you're still using the i810 driver. Is this a system update?
Yes.
I suggest to give the "intel" driver at least a try. Let me know about your results. Thanks.
Indeed, that fixes the problem. Thanks. :) However, I think we should improve the update process, at least showing a message for "i810" users that trying "intel" if they experience some problems might be a good progress. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
