Even booting with loglevel=7 does not output any more messages than:
Loading Linux 5.4.10-1-default Loading initial ramdisk ... EFI stub: Booting Linux Kernel... EFI stub: Using DTB from configuration table EFI stub: Exiting boot services and installing virtual address map...
Anything else I could examine on the boot SD medium?
Please try with the earlycon parameter as mentioned in https://en.opensuse.org/HCL:Raspberry_Pi -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

With upstream v5.5 and defconfig we get:
Loading test Linux ... objdump says: 0: e30087ff movw r8, #2047 ; 0x7ff
movw/movt is only available from armv7 and up, so it's actually a armv7 kernel? What were the kconfig options and compile flags?
I didnt' use bcm2835_defconfig so that might have been the problem. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Latest Tumbleweed image does boot properly on Raspberry Pi 1 (512MB of RAM version), with u-boot 2020.01 and kernel 5.5.8.
Image tested: openSUSE-Tumbleweed-ARM-JeOS-raspberrypi.armv6l-2020.03.10-Snapshot20200314. raw.xz
Unfortunately my RPi Zero borke so I'm not able to find out the root cause... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
