[Bug 486847] New: Login dialog drops keystrokes
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=486847 Summary: Login dialog drops keystrokes Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mwelinder@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686 (x86_64); en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008071619 Firefox/3.0.1 The login dialog drops keystrokes. Upgrading from 11.0 to 11.1 changed the login screen. In 11.1, one first selects a user from a list and is then given a password entry to complete. It looks to me as if there is some kind of animation going on when the user is selected: the other users disappear (scrolling off, instead of being instantly removed) and the password entry is then revealed. Right after boot, when the disk still seems plenty busy, that process takes 0.5s to 1s. Even when things are allowed to quiet more down, it still takes long enough for 1-2 characters of my password to be ignored. It looks like someone traded glitzy behaviour for functionality. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Select user 2. Type password 3. Hit enter Actual Results: System complains that authentication failed. Expected Results: User logged in. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
