After some "event" all sounds became silent. /var/logs/messeges reveal this note: Feb 20 16:12:11 wintermute kernel: ALSA sound/core/pcm_lib.c:157: BUG: stream = 0, pos = 0xff7be7, buffer size = 0x4000, period size = 0x800 I am not able to directly reproduce this bug :( But it happened periodically on my machine 10.2 x86-64 SoundBlaster live Last time it happened it was after i plugged usb-stick in. So, I suspect rather it's something with hardware...
