Yes, it is true. Teaching is not a registered upstream Category, and I am not
aware of any running attempt to include it.
This is a bug in update-desktop-files map-desktop-category.sh script.
Fixing.
However, I thing that the whole idea of adding of X-SuSE- mapping desktop
categories is outdated recently and needs to be updated.
For many years, the SUSE policy is now "upstream first". We should finally move
to the upstream categories only:
- Stop support of SuSE Linux 9 / Novell Linux Desktop Categories. These were
designed in 2004 for the new Novell Linux Desktop menu. Now we use upstream
menu systems, so it makes no sense to keep Novell Linux Desktop compatibility.
- Drop the whole SUSE-specific map-desktop-category.sh, and use
desktop-file-validate.
- Start to issue warning (and later error) for applications using X-SuSE-
Categories instead of upstream ones.
- Drop X-SUSE- Categories from SUSE menu.
- Completely drop X-SuSE- categories.
