... current monitor can store the settings for more than one mode ...
That's no help. I'll explain ist to you: I have several PCs behind a KVM switch. They all run H:63.4 kHz V:59.9 Hz. Differences in hardware timimg I was able to compensate with SaX2. Works smooth. No realignment when switching back and forward. That setup is disturbed with 10.3 on one PC annoyingly now. The changes I make with SaX2 are ignored. I can see that SaX2 has changed /etc/X11/xorg.conf but the display stays misaligned afterwards. I have to press the align button manually every time when I enter 10.3 or leave it. Everything is fine again according to alignment of screen when I switch back on that same PC from 10.3 to 10.2. But that is not my intent. I'd like to migrate to 10.3. I've made some experiments, no success. Found out: - SaX2 changes Modeline when I change alignment. - X11/radeon did not react on that changes. Conclusion: X11 and SaX2 don't understand each other within 10.3. I consider this an error that should be repaired soon. My setup: - pure 10.3 from DVD, online update does not work, another issue. - uname: 2.6.22.5-31-default ... x86_64 - xorg.conf: Device: Board: Radeon X300 (X370) 5B60 (PCIE) diver: radeon More information needed, what next to do? -- with kind regards Albert -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

--- Comment #7 from Albert Schwar
... run sax2 -r -m 0=radeonold
Done. Result is (logfiles attached): - with radeon SaX changes to alignment vanish. - with radeonold SaX changes to alignment are persistent.
... BTW, you reported this issue initially as nv driver bug
Important point, tnx a lot. I took Carlo's incident report to make clear that the main problem, - SaX changes to alignment are not persistent, can also be observed with other hardware/drivers. I suspect something common behind the drivers to block persistence in 10.3. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
