[Bug 540476] New: Process "exe" running at 100% cpu utilization
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=540476 Summary: Process "exe" running at 100% cpu utilization Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Milestone 7 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Mono AssignedTo: bnc-team-mono@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: tbullock@comlore.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20090909 SUSE/3.5.3-1.1 Firefox/3.5.3 There is a process named "exe" running at 100% after I boot the desktop. top reports that the process is owned by "nobody", and thus can only be killed by root. The performance degradation is so severe that it renders the desktop almost entirely unusable. Because of this, I am qualifying the bug as "Major". Because the program is called "exe" I surmise that it has something to do with Mono, although I have no idea in reality. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot to desktop (gnome in my case) 2. Wait until things get notably slow, usually a matter of a minute or so. 3. Check which process are running, "exe" should be at the top of process utilization list -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I am running KDE4, so it has nothing to do with the desktop itself. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
