https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=218551 ------- Comment #2 from dvaleev@bcc.ru 2006-11-07 02:05 MST ------- it seems a bug only with firefox2.0 and maybe with proxy. at home i have OpenSuSE 10.2 beta1 with firefox 2.0 out of the box. and at work i have SL10.1 with firefox2.0 installed from factory. this is a very strange issue. i cant open only bugzilla.novell.com and https://en.opensuse.org/ICSLogin/?%22http://en.opensuse.org/index.php?title=Special:Userlogin&returnto=Welcome_to_openSUSE.org&action=submitlogin%22 first i think this is a https proxy issue, but gmail page loaded fine. and epiphany works fine too. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=218551 ------- Comment #6 from reichelt@gbf.de 2006-11-07 02:51 MST ------- I waited till timeout of our proxy. It depends on the proxy settings. No problem with IE :-(( It is only the start page. If I'm logged in, all goes well. Seems to me a java-script problem. I have to test a little bit the ff settings on javascript -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=218551 ------- Comment #7 from wolfgang@rosenauer.org 2006-11-07 02:59 MST ------- iChains shows a weird behaviour in TLS handshaking. There was an mozilla upstream issue about it and there was stated that the timeout would be two minutes. The timeout on mozilla side was lowered because of this. Maybe the https proxy doesn't wait two minutes for an answer from iChain? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=218551 ------- Comment #9 from kra@ecolog.at 2006-11-29 06:09 MST ------- me too! this bug also hits me! EXACTLY as Dinar Valeev reported it. and i also work from behind a proxy. i have installed firefox from http://ftp.gwdg.de/linux/suse/opensuse/repositories/mozilla/SUSE_Linux_10.1/ current version is 2.0-57.1. this also has this bug. other ssl/https-secured sites seem to work, no problems. until today i figured out only https://bugzilla.novell.com as not working. konqueror and seamonkey have no problems. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=218551 ------- Comment #10 from kra@ecolog.at 2006-11-30 13:38 MST ------- it seems that it only happens when being behind a proxy. right now i am writing this with firefox2.0! but i am doing it at home, with no proxy! maybe this info can help finding the bug. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=218551 wolfgang@rosenauer.org changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Severity|Major |Normal ------- Comment #12 from wolfgang@rosenauer.org 2006-12-01 07:44 MST ------- I'm still pretty sure that comment #7 is the problem. I think the proxy resets the connection earlier than Firefox tries to use SSL3 instead of TLS for the connection. If Firefox connects the first time to a server using iChain it takes some amount of time but every future request (as long as Firefox is running) will fallback to SSL3 immediately and doesn't show any broken behaviour anymore. You can make sure if you run into this problem if you disable TLS 1.0 in the Firefox preferences and try to connect to those sites. If it works now this bug is a duplicate to an iChain issue. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Both are about iChain and not public. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=218551 ------- Comment #18 from wolfgang@rosenauer.org 2007-01-25 12:12 MST ------- I would recommend to keep it open because this is the only "open" reference that this is known and being worked on. Nobody outside can see the status of the iChain issue. It could also be documented somewhere where people can find it easily that it is a known issue. Otherwise you will get more reports about it IMHO. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=218551 ------- Comment #19 from maw@novell.com 2007-01-25 13:36 MST ------- My understanding was that the TLS timeout was lowered, thereby making the problem mostly go away. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=218551 ------- Comment #20 from wolfgang@rosenauer.org 2007-01-25 14:42 MST ------- No, the timeout was lowered from around 2 minutes to 20-30 seconds. It's still pretty bad behaviour. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
