[Bug 625184] New: akonadi contact resource in kde should be enabled by default
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=625184 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=625184#c0 Summary: akonadi contact resource in kde should be enabled by default Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: mroeben@uni-bremen.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; de; rv:1.9.2.6) Gecko/20100626 SUSE/3.6.6-1.2 Firefox/3.6.6 Only the default ressource which is pointing to a directory is enabled. This is completely senseless, because akonadi is used to handle contacts by default. This leads e.g. for a dysfunctional search in the mail composing dialogue. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual Results: e.g. no searching in the mail dialogue Expected Results: Akonadi contact ressource should be enabled kde system wide. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

KMail search was broken for another reason but is now fixed, see bko#237511, bnc#627419. Is such a resource already configured in your KDE setup (look in kcmshell kresources/Contacts)? Did the Akonadi migrator run on first kdepim app start? Does the "Akonadi configuration" module not show a 'std.vcf' vcard file account? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

When I did an new installation of OS 11.3 I found the standard resource for addresses pointing to this directory. I re-checked it by deleting all dot-diretories and files in the home directory of my test-user and logged in so that everything should be in their default settings. Now there are no kde-resources defined, whether for addresses, calendars or notes. With my testuser the akonadi migrator didn't started at the first login. On my main account I have configured it properly, ok, not at the moment due to bug 601711. So I guess something from my old installation was present at the first place, but this is unlikely since I am using the akonadi based address book for quite some time and I rememberd that I deleted my .kde4-directory. Or due to some updates now there are no resources defined. Nevertheless, since the address book location is by default standardized due to akonadi, the akonadi ressource should be present as a system wide kde-resource for addresses in the system setting. Only this will enable the feature to search for addresses in kmail or by pressing 'alt+f2'. I hope you git my point. :-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
