[Bug 272645] New: kpowersave: add controlling the cpu frequency policy to info dialog
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=272645 Summary: kpowersave: add controlling the cpu frequency policy to info dialog Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Mobile Devices AssignedTo: behlert@novell.com ReportedBy: bluedzins@wp.pl QAContact: qa@suse.de When you press the LMB over the kpowersave icon, it shows the info dialog about CPU, battery, etc. Would it be possible, maybe as slider, to add a way of changing the cpu frequency policy. It would be self explanatory at this level -- because the user could immediately see the change. For me... I often check the speed of the CPU, close the info dialog, change the speed, and assure myself (by clicking again for info dialog) speed is changed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

The reasons are: 1) this is only a info dialog and there is nothing you can change/set. This is simply only for monitor powermanagement information. 2) adding a widget to change the CPU freq would blowup the code, result in code duplication, provoke bugs in code and workflow and would interfere with the complete CPU Freq control in KPowersave. 3) you can simply open the dialog, let the dialog open and change the CPU Freq via the applet menu and you can also see the effect in the info dialog. There is no need to do this all again in the dialog. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

In other words -- it would be great to have one control board to control the current policy, not scattered things like that over several menus and dialogs -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
