The current scheme used to localize our Firefox build doesn't allow to exchange the default bookmarks according to the locale. That's worse with FF2.0 than before because on request from the Mozilla Corporation we had to include the "Latest Headlines" livemark which pulls en-US news instead of localized news. We would have to start a discussion again with Axel Hecht (l10n lead at mozilla.com) about that. I don't think that it makes sense to invent a hack for FF2.
