https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=336822 Summary: kiwi: Extremely slow booting usb live Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: System Imaging AssignedTo: ms@novell.com ReportedBy: jigish.gohil@gmail.com QAContact: adrian@novell.com Found By: --- Using: kiwi-desc-livesystem-1.51-26.1 kiwi-desc-usbboot-1.76-29.1 kiwi-1.76-29.1 Running: #kiwi --prepare /usr/share/kiwi/image/kwliveCD-suse-10.3 --root /tmp/kiwi-tmp \ --add-profile KDE --logfile terminal #kiwi --type usb --create /tmp/kiwi-tmp -d /tmp/kiwi-image --logfile terminal #kiwi --bootstick /tmp/kiwi-image/initrd-usbboot-suse-10.3.i686-2.1.1.gz \ --bootstick-system /tmp/kiwi-image/openSUSE-10.3.i686-2.0 Image sizes: 17M /tmp/kiwi-image/initrd-usbboot-suse-10.3.i686-2.1.1.gz 567M /tmp/kiwi-image/openSUSE-10.3.i686-2.0 (removed openoffice) Problem: Takes nearly a minute for a grub to come up, and for about three to 4 minutes there was just this on screen: kernel /boot.... initrd /boot.... _ Then, /include: line 764: /usr/sbin/hwinfo: No such file or directory The booting continued normally, rest was quite fast, about a minute on celeron 1.4 512mb ram laptop. Total boot time was over 5 minutes. Adding hwinfo to usbboot config.xml give could not find libdbus.so.1 and could not identify filesystem type. I have tried this on three different USB sticks (2 transcends and 1 sandisk) on two different build hosts and tried to boot on intel, via and nvidia chipset PCs, with same results. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
