Opts: acl,user_xattr,commit=0 [ 16.440587] EXT4-fs (sda1): re-mounted. Opts: acl,user_xattr,commit=0 System is OpenSUSE 12.1 installed on OCZ 60GB Solid State Drive on SATA3 port Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth 990FX Processor: AMD Phenom T1100 x6 Memory: Corsair 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 9-9-9-24 timing DHCP continues to error out and finally eth0 is dumped and doesn't show in "ifconfig". Static IP works, but doesn't activate using YAST2. Sometimes it works after a reboot. YAST2 reports the ethernet type as; "RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller" executing "/etc/init.d/network start" after YAST2 eth0 configuration does work. EThernet port is plugged into a D-Link DGS-1008G "Green" Gigabit Switch. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. When I plug in a TRENDnet TEG-PCITXR H/W:3.1R Rev.B1 board (r8169 driver) into the PCI slot, it will work only with a Static IP and the motherboard Ethernet port (also r8169 driver) stops working with either DHCP or Static IP. I tried unplugging either Ethernet cable from each Ethernet port and only the added TRENDnet card will work. with two cards in the system eth0 moves from the motherboard to the TRENDnet and the motherboard ethernet port is assigned eth1, which doesn't work, ever. Removing the TRENDnet card and setting the ethernet port to static IP allows the motherboard ethernet port to work again as eth0, and again DHCP is still dead. Both Ethernet systems use the r8169 driver. I need both ethernet ports to work, at least one with DHCP for my ISP connection. The other port will be used for my local 192.168.90.x/24 network. This system is intended to replace my existing OpenSUSE 10.3 system which is working perfectly, except that it is becoming overloaded with all the running services on an Athlon 6000+ x2 processor. If this can't be fixed, can someone tell me what Ethernet boards to buy to get two working Ethernet ports with OpenSUSE 12.1 on a Sabertooth 990FX motherboard {3 open PCIEX16 slots, 1 obstructed PCIEX1 slot, and 1 PCI slot}? Thanks (it's been a mildly frustrating two days), Craig Arno -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
