[Bug 472861] 11.1 fails to hibernate if kernel serial port (rs232) logging is active
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=472861 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=472861#c27 --- Comment #27 from Carlos Robinson <carlos.e.r@opensuse.org> 2010-11-07 03:45:45 UTC --- Created an attachment (id=398894) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=398894) Screen capture of normal hibernation attempt, second half I expand the information. The hibernation succeeds. See that it also complains about the floppy. The vmware server console dies, which it does when the VM powers off (even if it is virtually). So I restart it, it thaws correctly, it seems - but not quite. There is a kernel error dump to the terminal. I try to obtain the pm-suspend.log via ssh from the host, but it fails, can't find host (sorry, forgot the exact message, I use midnight console shell connection to transfer files, and the error line is cut). So I try to ping the host from the guest by name, which fails. Ok, I think I'll try to restart the network. Another kernel oops or whatever. Apparently the network succeeds to restarts, but there is no connection, either by name or by IP. So I have no recourse but reboot the machine, to get networking and the log files. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
