[Bug 358249] New: syslog-ng manpage doesn't document "-a" switch; manpage ' clarity', 'nits'...
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=358249 Summary: syslog-ng manpage doesn't document "-a" switch; manpage 'clarity', 'nits'... Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: suse@tlinx.org QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer The "-a" switch is used in the /etc/init.d/syslog startup script (in klogd package) when invoking "syslog-ng". The "-a" is not documented in the syslog-ng manpage (part of syslog package). Also, on same manpage, near end under DIAGNOSTICS (not exactly sure why it is under a section named 'diagnostics'), the first clause of the only sentence doesn't make sense as written. It says: It is expected that syslog-ng will run as root, however, if not running on a priviledged port of it it owned its own log directories, etc, it might run as a non-root user. Maybe it's valid in a different dialect, but 'priviledged' in US English doesn't have a 'd' (privileged). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
