[Bug 468869] New: blu-ray, growisofs (aftre installing Scilly's cdrtools-2.01.01) writes Ok, root cannot mount /dev/sr1
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=468869 Summary: blu-ray, growisofs (aftre installing Scilly's cdrtools-2.01.01) writes Ok, root cannot mount /dev/sr1 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: 64bit OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: cdb@dds.nl QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/4.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0) In openSuSE's 11.1 I cannot use blu-ray for a back-up. In 10.2 I could back-up to blu-ray and use the disc to restore after installing cdrtools and dvd+rw-tools After a 11.1 clean install no usage of blu-ray was possible. After installing latest cdrtools and latest dvd+rw-tools growisofs does the back-up jobs. Latest nero for linux does its jobs. But, I can not (as root) mount a blu-ray disc. One must use the -t option but to no avail. Feel free to ask what I have attempted to find a solution. And, by the way, spurious, non-traceable hang-up of 11.1 every few days. I have to do a reset to let 11.1 come to live again. (What? reset linux ??? Yes, for the first time(s) in years (from SuSE 6.4 up to and including 10.2)) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.insert a blu-ray disc into a bu-ray drive 2.growisofs bla bla use-the-force-luke bla bla 3.mount -o ro,noatime /dev/sr1 /mnt Actual Results: Install 11.1 onto a pc with blu-ray drive Try to use it . . . . . And install latest cdrtools (original auther, not the fork) and install latest dvd+rw-tools use growisofs to write data to the blu-ray drive watch it succeed . . . . try to mount it . . . Expected Results: Yes, I can see files in /mnt ehh . . . I (root) cannot mount /dev/sr1 in 10.2 on exactly the same pc the blu-ray drive was /dev/sr0 and a dvd drive was /dev/sr1 in 11.1 the dvd is sr0 and the blu-ray drive is /dev/sr1 . . . and by exactly the same pc I mean: no change whatsoever in connecting cables . . . -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
