The kernel apparently detects the USB connection since the correct model name is listed, but Digikam cannot connect. Under kernel vmlinuz-2.6.18.8-0.3-bigsmp and a number of previous kernels I have never had any problems. Please make sure it is connected properly and turned on. Would you like to try again? I don't have gphoto2 loaded, and prefer not to load it to keep the GNOME stuff to a minimum. Permission could be the problem. This an ls -l of the file on the git kernel: crw-r--r-- 1 root root 189, 514 2007-05-09 10:47 /dev/bus/usb/005/003 Digikam or one of its KDE parts has the above file open. I would suspect that it needs write permission, which it does not have, to be able to query the USB device.
