If you need to click on "autodetect" you already have a working mouse, so this request is rather useless.
Because it is impossible to have several mice (or other pointing device) and handicapped people simply don't exist. With such autodetect feature it would be simpler to attach, test, reconfigure mice, especially sax it not so good in detecting them. Forcing user to restart app each time you make it harder than it should be.
