https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=215069 Summary: SuSe 10.2 Alpha Freezed after 5 minutes use Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Alpha 5 Platform: 32bit OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: dnamaku@dnainternet.net QAContact: qa@suse.de I have installed openSUSE Alpha 5. When I boot SuSe with normal booting it will freeze after 5 minutes. I have to boot it with safe settings that I get it running right. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=215069 ------- Comment #3 from dnamaku@dnainternet.net 2006-10-27 14:55 MST ------- Hello. I tried to install straight to beta but then I found new problem. I cannot change cd after it when first installing cd is being installed. Installing system crashed and it said this is bug. I tried install Alpa again from DVD, but this installation fails too because I changed default settings. Anyway I have to use safe mode in installing. Default setting what I changed was grub location. I don't want install grub to MBR because Kubuntu Edgy didn't start after last try. It said that superblock don't found and I had to install Kubuntu again. I'm now loading Beta DVD by torrent and I will install it. After this I'll attach logs to here. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=215069 ------- Comment #4 from dnamaku@dnainternet.net 2006-10-28 16:13 MST ------- SuSe Beta haven't freezed me because I can't install it. It gave errors packages what it hadn't found from medium and I have to use system updating after failed installing. Because of this I don't know root password. I can't change root password because in rescue mode I haven't got urandom device for blowfish passwords. SuSe gave error. SuSe installation broke my Kubuntu again too. I have Win XP and Kubuntu in first hard disk and second ntfs partition in second hard disk. I tried install SuSe in second hard drive: /dev/sdb2 and /dev/sdb3 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

I used instaaling program in finnish language. I selected KDE. The first Installing ran right but near the end I got this error message: "Package yast2-hardware-detection was not found on the medium." In details there was said that package yast2-hardware-detection fails integrity check. When I ingored it installation finished. I start it again and check installation DVD with installing program. It was OK. I tried installing again and now I got error message: package info2html was not found on the medium and by ingoring installation finished again. After this I started Kubuntu what was installed in /dev/hdc2 and it throwed me fixing console. I have started Kubuntu two times after I tried to install SuSe and I have get allways fixing console. I got Kubuntu running after fsck -f. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
