[Bug 334717] New: usb-HDD & Flash Drives Detected But not Displayed
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=334717#c1 Summary: usb-HDD & Flash Drives Detected But not Displayed Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: snakedriverx@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer My 1st install on my x86-64 laptop was an upgrade from rc1. I had the same issue as Bug 332601 (External USB-IDE HDD is not detected) where my usb-HDD & flash drives were detected, but, not displayed in /media, sysinfo or my computer. I could not find the fault. I did a clean install to "/", keeping my old /home. Then, everything worked with respect to my usb-HDDs & flash drives being properly displayed. On the 15th, I did an update (on my x86-64 laptop) & got the latest kernel, ATI GO1 driver, SPCA webcam driver & all the other available updates from the Yast-source; I also compiled & installed the SeaMonkey rt2500 cvs driver. Something broke sysinfo; the usb-HDD & flash drives are detected, but, are now not displayed with /media or sysinfo in My Computer. I can manually mount them. I removed the ATI GO1 driver & am using radeonold; I still have the problem, so, it's not the ATI driver/module. Rats... I will add the KDE repos & do a full Smart KDE update & see what happens.
