[Bug 775926] New: During installation ntp is not configured correctly after accessing the Change Date and Time screen
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=775926 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=775926#c0 Summary: During installation ntp is not configured correctly after accessing the Change Date and Time screen Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: RC 2 Platform: PC OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: comes@naic.edu QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0 During the installation NTP is enable and configured correctly, but if in the Clock and Time Zone screen I click on Change and access the Change Date and Time screen then the following bugs happens: 1) NTP service is always enabled even if I select Manually or deselect Run NTP as a Daemon 2) the content /etc/ntp.conf is incorrect. It only contains the lines: server 0.opensuse.pool.ntp.org iburst server 1.opensuse.pool.ntp.org iburst server 2.opensuse.pool.ntp.org iburst server 3.opensuse.pool.ntp.org iburst I have also a complain about the Synchronizing with NTP Server window that appears during the installation process just before entering the Clock and Time Zone screen. Up to 11.3 the window would stay on for about 15 seconds, since 11.4 the windows stays on for over one minute. I think one minute is excessive, especially for people like me who just want to disable ntp during the installation process. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install and in the Clock and Time Zone screen click on Change 2. 3. Actual Results: NTP service is always enabled even if told not to, /etc/ntp.conf content is wrong. Expected Results: It should be possible to disable the NTP service durint the installation process, /etc/ntp.conf content must be correct as it is when not accessing the Change Date and Time screen. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
