The suggested partition layout was after un-checking "separate home partition" 1GB SWAP 7GB / Resized the swap to 500MB, and still the maximum space available for the root partition is 7GB. It would seem to GUI is not refreshed, updating free space when resizing any of the partitions. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Use the suggested partition layout 2. Decrease size of one partition. 3. But resizing the first partition makes space between the two partitions but resizing of partitions can only change the end, not the start of the partition. If the second partition does not already exist on disk you can move it within YaST.
