OOo internal quickstarter is enabled from OpenOffice.org menu "Tools/Options.../OpenOffice.org/Memory/Enable Systray Quickstarter" It has an affect only in GNOME. 2. External apple for KDE can be started from the KDE menu "Applications/System/Desktop Applet/OpenOffice.org Quickstarter" Your message commes from the KDE applet. Paul, do you really use KDE? Are you able to enable the quickstart more again? 1. Right mouse click on the quickstarter ikon 2. Enable the check box: Configure OpenOffice.org Quickstarter.../Advanced/ Use OpenOffice.org's Quickstart-mode (requires some memory) Are you able to use the other functionality of the Quickstarter? Yes, I've enabled the checkbox again and still got the same error message. Since reporting this bug I upgraded to OOo 3.0 and to the latest quickstarter from OpenSUSE OOo stable repo. I tried it on three different computers and the result was always the same. I notised that if I repeat the step "Enable the check box: Configure OpenOffice.org Quickstarter.../Advanced/Use OpenOffice.org's Quickstart-mode (requires some memory)", the quickstarter finaly works well. But only to the restart of computer. After restart the problem starts again. The problem conserns both version OpenSuse - 11.0 and 11.1.
