A random time after resuming from suspend to RAM the X-Server hangs. Only a shutdown is possible by pressing the on/off-button shortly. The screen shows the string "resume" in the left upper corner and apart from that it is black. I use xorg-x11-server-7.5_1.8.0-10.3.1, kernel-desktop-2.6.34.7-0.2.2 and libdrm-2.4.21-1.2. The screen was completely frozen. It wasn't possible to shutdown the computer regularly by pressing the on/off button shortly, it had to be pressed long for a forced shutoff. Here the only snippet of information I found in the log (/var/log/kdm.log): (EE) intel(0): Detected a hung GPU, disabling acceleration. Xorg: uxa-glyphs.c:167: uxa_realize_glyph_caches: Assertion `uxa_pixmap_is_offscreen(pixmap)' failed.
From SuSE 6.1 up to now I never had such an unstable X-Server in a final release.

Then the mouse cursor is still movable and changes its appearance when moving over window borders etc. When I change to the console with <Ctrl>-<Alt> + <F1> it is possible to shutdown X and KDE with 'init 3'. After trying to restart with 'init 5' the screen changes to tty7, the back-light is switched off and again on, then the screen stays black with a non blinking underscore in the upper left corner. As for now I'm using the 'legacyintel' driver with 'nomodeset' kernel parameter and with disabled compositing. But even in that constellation the crashes occurs, only less often. Now nearly every time when X hangs it was while displaying a streamed video with vlc (not fullscreen) and moving the mouse cursor to the bottom of the screen to let the control panel pop up. Maybe this error has something in common with the background filling error when a new window is opened.
