Problem: java-1_5_0-sun-plugin cannot be installed due to missing dependencies Problem: No valid solution found with just resolvables of best architecture. With this run only resolvables with the best architecture have been regarded. Regarding all possible resolvables takes time, but can come to a valid result. Solution 1: Make a solver run with ALL possibilities. Your installed package java-1_5_0-sun-plugin-1.5.0_update13-0.3.i586 HAS ALREADY the unfulfilled requirement: <dep name='jre-1.5.0-sun-32' op='==' version='1.5.0_update13' release='0.3' kind="package" /> So it does not fit on your system. Due the force of not changing the architecture while this update you are running into this problems. Have you tried the first solution ?: "Make a solver run with ALL possibilities." Then you should get at least a solution like: "xyz provides foo but has another architecture. Shall I use it ?"
