[Bug 859469] New: update openSUSE-2014-56 (qtcurve-gtk2-1.8.16-2.4.1.x86_64.rpm) breaks claws-mail
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=859469 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=859469#c0 Summary: update openSUSE-2014-56 (qtcurve-gtk2-1.8.16-2.4.1.x86_64.rpm) breaks claws-mail Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Maintenance AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: d_werner@gmx.net QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:26.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/26.0 After today's update of qtcurve-gtk2 from 1.8.16-2.1.2 to 1.8.16-2.4.1 claws-mail no longer starts. After a fallback to qtcurve-gtk2-1.8.16-2.1.2.x86_64 it can be started again. The system is a plain openSUSE 13.1 with all available updates. The update was performed with "you". Other packets were updated, too (openssl and libpng16), but only qtcurve-gtk2 has an impact. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.have a working claws-mail with qtcurve-gtk2-1.8.16-2.1.2 2.exit claws-mail 3.upgrade to qtcurve-gtk2-1.8.16-2.4.1.x86_64 4.try to start claw-mail, it crashes during the startup -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Updstream has rewritten the function last weekend. I haven't had time to test it yet. https://github.com/QtCurve/qtcurve/commit/12900ddab65b40c8c6fca21945ff9fddcb... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

So this problem is less severe than I thought at first. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The issue was in an application calling wait(NULL) in a SIGCHILD handler which is really a bad idea! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
