[Bug 1206766] New: Since kernel 6.1 Tascam US-16X08 is no longer recognized
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1206766 Bug ID: 1206766 Summary: Since kernel 6.1 Tascam US-16X08 is no longer recognized Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: r.alonso@mailbox.org QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Since kernel 6.1 my interface Tascam US-16X08 is no longer recognized and it blocks the entire audiosysten. With kernel 6.0 everything is still ok. I use Tumbleweed. But I have also tested it with other Linux Live systems that already offer 6.1. Always the same game. 6.1 no, 6.0 yes. If I boot with Kernel 6.0 first and then switch to 6.1 via reboot, everything runs normally with 6.1. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Interestingly, the lsusb output after resume shows some errors. Could you give the dmesg output after resume (that is indicating the bug)? It might be irrelevant, but just to be sure. Also, I'm building a test kernel with a patch that might be related with the USB audio driver like yours. It's still built in OBS home:tiwai:bsc1206766 repo. Once after the build finishes, could you give it a try? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I'm not sure whether this is caused by the USB audio driver update or by some change in USB core (or other) side for now. I'll try to create a KMP that replaces the USB audio driver with 6.0.x equivalence, and we can check it at first. http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1206766 http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1206766#c12 --- Comment #12 from Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.com> --- I built a test KMP containing the USB audio driver(s) in OBS home:tiwai:bsc1206766-kmp1/usb-audio repo. Fetch usb-audio-kmp-default package from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/tiwai:/bsc1206766-kmp1/openS... and install it. This will replace the driver on the latest TW kernel (as of now 6.1.1-1). If this fixes the problem, it means that the problem is somewhere in the USB audio driver update between 6.0.x and 6.1.x). If the problem persists, it means the problem being in a deeper level. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I'm building yet another KMP in OBS home:tiwai:bsc1206766-kmp2 repo, the same usb-audio-kmp-default. It's based on 6.1.x but with a few more fixes and a patch revert. Let's see whether this works. Uninstall the previous usb-audio-kmp-default, and install the new one from *-kmp2 repo. Then retest with it. If it doesn't work, please get the kernel log with snd_usb_audio.dyndbg=+p boot option again for the broken state, too. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
