[Bug 763161] New: integrate USB 3.0 support into the mainline kernel
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=763161 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=763161#c0 Summary: integrate USB 3.0 support into the mainline kernel Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: estellnb@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/4.4; Linux; i686) KHTML/4.4.5 (like Gecko) Having tested Sarah Sharps custom kernel with USB 3.0 support my hitherto test results were quite convincing and sound. Both of my USB 3.0 Express Cards (Delock and Transcend) have been working well with external media like USB 3.0 hard disks and USB sticks. They are not yet supported by the mainline kernel and this is why I wanna pose a request to integrate Sarahs work into the mainline kernel. The only obstacle seems to be powersaving support at the moment because s2ram will cause a kernel panic with this branch. see: http://sarah.thesharps.us/2009-06-09-13-30.cherry git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/sarah/xhci.git Reproducible: Always -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
