https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=830175 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=830175#c0 Summary: Wrong interface name "eno1" causes network.service to fail Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: fabian@ritter-vogt.de QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Opera/9.80 (X11; Linux x86_64) Presto/2.12.388 Version/12.15 Server with 8 NICs with RTL8111 and 1 on-board Intel 82579V Installed openSUSE as server installation, default network config on yast2-second-stage. After reboot (which was also slow) bond0 was set up with all 9 NICs as slaves. It takes 30 seconds to start network.service which reports: eno1 No interface found What is eno1? It doesn't appear in YaST but seems to be the cause of a 30 second delay and the failed state of network.service. After removing /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eno1 it boots fine in 5 seconds and network.service is "running". Reproducible: Didn't try Actual Results: eno1 appears. Expected Results: eno1 shouldn't appear or at least be visible in YaST.
