I am running the following kernel on a Mac Mini 2007 and LXDE Desktop: uname -a Linux warren 5.3.11-1-default #1 SMP Tue Nov 12 18:57:39 UTC 2019 (0a195a8) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Graphics chipset is: mwagner@warren:~> /sbin/lspci -nnk | grep -A3 "\[03..\]:" 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:27a2] (rev 03) Subsystem: Intel Corporation Device [8086:7270] Kernel driver in use: i915 Kernel modules: i915 The problem that I am facing is that Valve's "Half Life 1" games show a garbled intro screen (see screenshot from "Ricochat") with triangles and this also happens with "Counter-Strike 1.6" both with Linux Steam and Steam using wine. So far I have run a glxgears which works fine: mwagner@warren:~> glxgears Running synchronized to the vertical refresh. The framerate should be approximately the same as the monitor refresh rate. 301 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.100 FPS 301 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.118 FPS X connection to :0.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown). Also some output from my dmesg: dmesg | grep i915 [ 5.350251] i915 0000:00:02.0: vgaarb: deactivate vga console [ 5.352319] i915 0000:00:02.0: vgaarb: changed VGA decodes: olddecodes=io+mem, decodes=io+mem:owns=io+mem [ 5.524428] [drm] Initialized i915 1.6.0 20190619 for 0000:00:02.0 on minor 0 [ 5.741770] fbcon: i915drmfb (fb0) is primary device [ 5.927178] i915 0000:00:02.0: fb0: i915drmfb frame buffer device Please let me know should you require further information.
