If I try to re-install the printer with YaST, the server "Test Connection" gives OK. I double-checked the user name and password. But when I try to print a test page I get: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED Reproducible: Always I tried to stop AppArmor with "service boot.apparmor stop", but it did not help. The file just ends after a few lines on the installation date with this: [2011/09/15 14:59:13.543824, 0] passdb/pdb_interface.c:259(guest_user_info) guest_user_info: Unable to locate guest account [Nobody]! [2011/09/15 14:59:13.543932, 0] smbd/server.c:1266(main) ERROR: failed to setup guest info. I guess I did not need to update the samba package after all, just samba-client, but I wanted to keep all in sync. The actual print server is probably a Windows box. However, it might be useful to get a network trace. Can you run tcpdump -i eth0 -s 0 -w /tmp/dump.cap host <windows machine address> while attempting this? Then hit ctrl-c, and upload the /tmp/dump.cap file here. This fixes a printing permissions bug in the RAW SMB job spooling code path, in which smbd unnecessarily requests the opening of the printer with full access rights.
