[Bug 979421] New: sntp command line syntax has changed
http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=979421 Bug ID: 979421 Summary: sntp command line syntax has changed Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: 13.2 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: max@suse.com QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com CC: ancor@suse.com, behlert@suse.com, Knut.Anderssen@suse.com, max@suse.com, mvidner@suse.com, rw@suse.com, schubi@suse.com Blocks: 979416 Found By: --- Blocker: --- We also need this change for OpenSUSE 13.2. +++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #916617 (SLE11) +++ +++ Other clones are bug #937837 (SLE12) and bug #979416 (SLE10) +++ With the upgrade of ntp to 4.2.8 the command line syntax of sntp has changed quite heavily. Unfortunately even some of the old switches got reused for a different purpose. In the install system /usr/share/YaST2/clients/ntp-client_proposal.ycp should now call sntp with these options: sntp -S -c '%1' -S causes the time to be set via the settimeofday() syscall -c causes all IP addresses to which %1 resolves to be queried in parallel If it is also desired to silence the "Cannot open KoD db file" warning that appears by default, the following option can be set in addition: -K /dev/null The same applies to /usr/share/YaST2/modules/NtpClient.ycp. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
