The auto rotation of thumbnail images in Konqueror doesn't work either. Portrait images are shown in landscape orientation. Two additional observations: 1. The tooltip for jpeg images in Konqueror shows a very strange selection of exif parameters. 2. The drawing of thumbnail images in konqueror is very slow (compared to Suse 10.1). I suspect that the thumbnails are generated from the jpeg image. Normally, they should be taken from the exif header (?) I found a workaround: After a rebuild of the kdegraphics3-RPM without the "better-exif"-patch everything is ok. Please see also Bug #140144 at bugs.kde.org! Only the orientation of thumbnails is corrected, not the orientation of images shown in Kuickshow. The problem is _not_ resolved. Perhaps you could set the status to "wontfix", but consider the following: 1. Unmaintained or not - kdegraphics-imaging is a regular package, it is not something like kdegraphics-imaging-obsolete or kdegraphics-imaging-doesntwork. And: For many people Kuickshow is the best image viewer in KDE... 2. Kuickshow without the "better-exif"-patch works as expected 3. -> The problem _is_ SUSE-specific (correct me if i am wrong: The "better-exif"-patch is SUSE-specific) Possible workaround: (see 2.) Kuickshow shows the picture in landscape orientation -> Error! The thumbnails in Kuickshow's filebrowser or in Konqueror are (correct) rotated - they are shown in portrait orientation. 3. Workaround: Rebuild kdegraphics3 from kdegraphics3-3.5.7-60.src.rpm without the better-exif.patch (comment out the patch in the .spec-file) 4. Test of the workaround: Install the new-built kdegraphics3-rpm. The new-built kdegraphics3-imaging is not needed. Logout, restart X/KDE.
