I've seen on forum that windows disables this NIC, so that when you reboot it from windows, linux can't enable it. In this case powering it down, wait for a couple of seconds and turn it on booting direct into linux should help. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It seems an update to the Windows driver causes this behaviour. Seemingly what would need to be done in the r8169 module is add the code to do the opposite of what the Windows driver does when brining up the interface. Debian (and the "Ubunutu" distribution that bases itself on it) users are claiming this issue is fixed in Linux 2.6.26-rc5. So can we leave this bug on the sideburner pending upstream kernel update? I think that option only shows when ticket is first marked as accepted? Ref1: http://adam.rosi-kessel.org/weblog/2008/06/21/a-much-simpler-fix-for-the-r81...
