[Bug 693647] New: "Waiting for cgroup" timeout and cgroups don't mount
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=693647 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=693647#c0 Summary: "Waiting for cgroup" timeout and cgroups don't mount Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mitchell@kde.org QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/534.32 SUSE/13.0.751.0 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/13.0.751.0 Safari/534.32 When booting up, just after the LVM volumes are activated, there is a message in the console: "Waiting for cgroup................timeout!" This takes about 10-15 seconds for it to timeout and nearly doubles my boot time. :-| In addition, the cgroups aren't mounted when the system comes up. Running "/etc/init.d/boot.cgroups" shows that it was started, but no cgroups are mounted. If I run "/etc/init.d/boot.cgroups stop; /etc/init.d/boot.cgroups start" then they are correctly mounted. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Kernel 2.6.37.6-0.5-desktop. But I've seen this on other kernels, including KOTD. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Reports against openSUSE 11.4 and prior will not get the attention needed to resolve them before openSUSE 12.2 is release and openSUSE 11.4 becomes unmaintained. Please re-test with openSUSE 12.1 or openSUSE RC2+ and re-open with an updated Product if you still encounter your issue. We apologize for this issue not getting the attention it deserves but we are focusing our resources in the area where they will have the most impact for our users. We're working hard to make openSUSE 12.2 the best openSUSE release yet! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
