Problem: I could only log in as root from the local console, gnome or ssh does not work. Even some commands don't run, like 'man sshd' hang, as 'strace man sshd' revealed: connect(4, {sa_family=AF_FILE, path="/dev/log"...}, 110) = 0 send(4, "<14>Oct 6 15:42:03 man: nss_ldap: ldap_start_tls failed: Timed out"..., 67, MSG_NOSIGNAL) = ?
