[Bug 908664] New: Using YaST2 > Bootloader changes permissions on system files
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=908664 Bug ID: 908664 Summary: Using YaST2 > Bootloader changes permissions on system files Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 201412* Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: jon@grossart.net QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- In debugging another issue, I was looking at the /etc/default/grub file. It's normal permissions are 644. After changing some settings in YaST2, it changes the file permissions to 600, which prevents it being viewed by non-root users. And update to that file via zypper resets the permissions to 644. The file grub_installdevice also seems to have permissions of 600, but that seems consistent across usages (YaST2 and zypper). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
