As a note I also have some issues with window borders. This is with the 2D desktop. Sometimes I have no borders at all and sometimes I have borders but can not move the windows (not by using the mouse, or window move menu). Although it happens without 3D desktop enabled could this be indicating mix 2d/3d mode? I first tried some different settings in the xorg.conf and also tried using appropriate section settings for monitor, modes, screen and driver from my xorg.conf taken form the working 10.3 setup. All no go and same issue as soon as trying to enable 3D desktop. I then got a bug-buddy error saying the gnome-settings-daemon had some problems. With the window border weirdness mentioned in comment #5 I gave setting a different appearance a try and set it to Industrial. I am now writing this with 3D desktop enabled B) So this issue seems related to a problem in the gnome-setting-daemon environment? With the industrial theme set all works ok at this moment, but opening appearance in the Control Center brings back the bug buggy error. P.s. XGL is looking much nicer in 11.0 than it does in 10.3 (10.3 has a fuzzier look to it). Good work on that! If I now change the theme back to standard and again to something else I don't get the bug-buddy crash reports anymore. Looks like my default setup was missing something or messed up and it got corrected when changing the theme? Does bug-buggy create a local debug file? And if so where is it placed so I can attach it...
